St. Joseph’s School, Naini, celebrated its Annual Day, woven around the theme “Wings of Hope,” with vibrancy and life, creating a magnificent and reverberating celebration on Wednesday, 19th November 2025. The Annual Day was graced by the Chief Guest, Hon'ble Smt. Justice Manju Rani Chauhan of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad.

The event was also attended by President Most Rev. Dr. Louis Mascarenhas, Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Allahabad; Rev. Msgr. Fr. Reginald D'Souza (Vicar General); Rev. Fr. Eugene Mascarenhas (Manager, SJS Naini); Rev. Fr. Jacob Bona D'Souza; Rev. Fr. Joseph Sagayanathan; Rev. Sr. Principal CSN (Nazareth Hospital School of Nursing); the distinguished Reverend Fathers; Sr. Superior Community FDCC, CSS, CJ, and DSH; and proud parents.

The formal welcome was extended by the Principal of SJS, Rev. Fr. Melwin Wilson D’Souza, who, as the head of the SJS family, set the tone for the celebration. The students showcased their talents through mesmerising and heart-touching performances, including stunning dance presentations that captivated the audience.

The Little “Messengers of Hope,” the LKG students, performed a heart-melting dance that deserved unstoppable applause. The tiny hearts reminded us that hope gives wings, but dreams make them fly.

Dhara Ki Dhadkan, an innocent dance drama narrated by Class 1, unfolded the wounds of Mother Earth—her silent tears—and her glorious rise through hope, love, and care.

“One act of kindness can change the world.” Through Hues of Humanity, Class 2 presented a beautiful performance showing how kindness and simple acts can bring happiness to others.

“A life can lose its light, yet hope whispers gently—‘Rise again….’” A touching performance by Class 3, titled A Second Chance, woven with courage and compassion, reminded everyone that sometimes a second chance is what we all require.

A Plate of Hope, a dance performance by Class 4, reminded us that no night is too dark when hope survives.

Class 5 performed Manavta ka Sangam, conveying that beyond borders and names, there beats one rhythm—HOPE, a beautiful spirit that binds all as one.

The highlight of the event was a thought-provoking mime performance, Hear My Heart, by Class 6, which clearly reflected the consequences of domestic violence.

Beyond the Shadows by Class 7 was a stirring portrayal capturing the spirit of survival—showing that life continues when hope and humanity keep us going.

Aarvya, the Class 8 dance drama, effectively presented the pain caused by child labour and child marriage—shedding light on shadows that still haunt many.

Badaltey Rishtey, a drama synchronized with graceful dance steps by Class 9, profoundly depicted the loneliness of old age—a realization that deeply moved the audience.

Class 10 presented The Real Report Card, a riveting performance showcasing the psychological struggles teenagers face regarding their future—the battles that run within them. It included an outstanding depiction of the National Education Policy introduced by the Government of India, aimed at easing students’ learning challenges and promoting creativity and freedom for every learner.

Class 11’s performance, Gen Z Reborn, received ceaseless applause. The dance drama powerfully conveyed that while technology is important, it cannot replace life. Artificial Intelligence is helpful, but complete reliance on it is perilous and unsafe for society.

The program was an amalgamation of various hues, beautifully supporting the theme. The thematic dance performances, both Western and folk, enchanted the audience. The props and costumes added colour to the occasion, and the synchronized performances were a visual delight.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest expressed that the students had smartly carved a niche for themselves. She emphasized that students should not only receive excellent education but should also be instilled with strong values and ethics to serve the nation effectively.

In his speech, Most Rev. Dr. Louis Mascarenhas, Bishop of the Diocese of Allahabad, congratulated the entire SJS Naini family for presenting such a mesmerizing event through which the message of “Wings of Hope” was powerfully conveyed. He noted that the National Education Policy (NEP) is a ray of hope for future generations and highlighted that hope never disappoints. He emphasized that hope is a fundamental need in life, and that the true purpose of education is not merely imparting knowledge but fostering complete learning and the right values.

He also congratulated Principal Rev. Fr. Melwin Wilson D’Souza and the entire staff for their teamwork, choreography, and dedication, which were evident in both the academic and non-academic aspects of the event.

The exhilarating show was an unforgettable experience—a spectacular display of talent, enthusiasm, and fervour.
