St. Joseph’s School, Naini, celebrated NCC Day on Wednesday, 26th November 2025. This
day not only marks the establishment of the NCC but also commemorates the
adoption of the Constitution of India.
The school’s NCC
units — the 6 UP Girls Battalion and the 1 UP Naval Unit — marked the 78th NCC
Raising Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The events held during
the celebration honoured the founding of the NCC in 1948 and its legacy of
instilling discipline and unity in the nation’s youth.

cadet students, and school staff.
The event featured a
cultural program that included a patriotic song, Teri Mitti Mein... by Soumya Jha, accompanied by Mansi Mishra
on flute for rhythmic synchronization. A skit highlighted the importance of NCC
in a student’s life and how one could balance both academics and a passion for
NCC. Additionally, a dance on Arambh Hai Prachand
conveyed the message of India’s cultural diversity and reinforced the idea of
national unity.
In his inspiring
speech, the Principal, Rev. Fr. Melwin Wilson D’Souza, emphasized the NCC motto
of Unity and Discipline and its role in
character-building. He highlighted how NCC training prepares young people for
future leadership roles in both military and civilian life.
Rev. Fr. Melwin
Wilson D’Souza further spoke about the importance and beauty of the Indian
Constitution, stating that India is shaped by its people, and its Constitution
is designed to serve everyone. He emphasized that the Constitution guarantees
social, economic, and political liberty, and noted how it balances the various
walks of society, ensuring justice and providing the right to question.
In conclusion, he
congratulated everyone, especially the NCC cadets, for their dedication to both
their academics and NCC responsibilities.
The NCC celebration
was a resounding success, effectively showcasing the spirit of unity,
discipline, and patriotism among all. The event not only honoured the NCC’s
legacy but also motivated the cadets to continue their selfless service to the
